Strain Description
The Grp-iCre mouse was constructed by integrating the Kozak-iCre-WPRE-BGH pA expression cassette into the mouse Grp gene, disrupting the expression of the endogenous mouse Grp gene. When Grp-iCre mice are crossed with mice containing loxP sites, the offspring are expected to exhibit Cre recombinase-mediated sequence recombination between loxP sites in the cerebral cortex and dorsal horn of the spinal cord.
Strain Strategy
The partial exon 1 coding region was replaced with the Kozak-iCre-WPRE-BGH pA cassette.
Announcement
The insertion site of the Cre recombinase gene expression cassette in this strain is located on chromosome 18. Please avoid breeding with gene-edited mice targeting genes on the same chromosome as the Cre mouse when conducting mating.
